Butterflies Garden Restaurant, Siem Reap (Cambodia)

Vegetable and Shrimp Spring Rolls at the Butterflies

I've been traveling for 12 days and I would have many experiences to tell - from trekking in the jungle, Cambodian villages and the famous temples of Angkor - but this time I would like to tell you about a Cambodian restaurant.
The poverty of many of the Cambodian population can be seen at every corner and I have always chosen, both for eating and sleeping, people with a social purpose as the Butterflies Garden Restaurant in Siem Reap.
As soon as you step inside the restaurant, you find a beautiful garden, quiet and friendly place where butterflies flie free and where in the evening you can see the stars.
Opened in 2006, The Butterflies employs people with different types of difficulties giving them the opportunity to study and  a percentage of the restaurant profits. Another percentage is given to help the many children orphaned or abandoned.
The traditional Khmer food was fantastic, thanks to the chef who graduated in a school that provides training to disadvantaged youth.
So, if you're planning to go to Siem Reap, there are many reasons not to miss this beautiful place.
